Violinist James Reinarz has appeared in solo, chamber, and orchestral performances throughout the Unites States and Europe. A very active chamber musician and member of the Durazno String Quartet, Mr. Reinarz has appeared in masterclasses for the Guarneri, Orion, Cavani and Maia String Quartets, and performed for members of both the Cleveland and Tokyo Quartets. As a concerto soloist, he has been featured with the Las Vegas Philharmonic, the Henderson Civic Symphony, the Nevada Chamber Symphony, and the Las Vegas Youth Philharmonic. During the summer 2010, Mr. Reinarz served as a faculty member with the CODA Mountain Academy and as an Orchestral Apprentice at the Master Works Festival. Previously, he has spent his summers at the Aspen Music Festival, The Quartet Program, and The Meadowmount School of Music, among other festivals. A dedicated teacher, Mr. Reinarz is trained through Cleveland Institute of Music’s (CIM) Sato Center for Suzuki Studies under Kimberly Meier-Sims, and is a registered Suzuki teacher through book 6. A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mr. Reinarz received his Bachelor's degree from CIM and is currently a Master’s student at CIM studying violin performance with Paul Kantor.
James Reinarz is a Master’s student at the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM) where he is a violin performance major studying with Paul Kantor. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from CIM in 2009. Trained through CIM’s Sato Center for Suzuki Studies under Kimberly Meier-Sims, he is a registered Suzuki teacher through book 6. James studied violin with Mary Straub at the Nevada School of the Arts from the age of 4 through high school, where he was a five-year recipient of a Liberace Foundation Scholarship. He was a third place prizewinner in the 2007 MTNA National Young Artists Competition and was the Nevada State first place winner in the 2004 MTNA Senior Competition. Locally, he has been a winner in the LVMTA Bolognini Competition three times. He was a concerto soloist with the Las Vegas Philharmonic, the Henderson Civic Symphony, the Nevada Chamber Symphony and with the Las Vegas Youth Philharmonic. He participated in Nevada’s All State Orchestra since 2002, winning principal viola in 2004. He received the Nevada All State “Command Performance” with his quartet performance in 2002 and 2003. At the Las Vegas Academy for Performing Arts he was a violin major under the direction of Carol Jackson and Karl Reinarz. He has been a member of the Las Vegas Youth Orchestras program for ten years and a concertmaster in all four orchestras. As a Boy Scout James earned his “Eagle Scout” and considers his college church groups as especially valuable. For the summer of 2010, James will be an Orchestral Apprentice at the Master Works Festival and a faculty member of the CODA Mountain Academy. Previously, James has spent his summers at the Aspen Music Festival, The Quartet Program, The Meadowmount School of Music and others. He performed at the 2003 Chicago Midwest Clinic with the Las Vegas Academy Orchestra and the Nevada School of the Arts Violin Ensemble, being a featured soloist in both groups. As a member of the Durazno String Quartet, James has appeared in masterclasses for the Guarneri, Orion, Cavani and Maia String Quartets, as well as members of the Cleveland and Tokyo Quartets. James has performed in Masterclasses for Brian Lewis, Charlie Castleman, Paul Kantor, Aaron Berofsky, Corey Cervosek, Stefan Milenkovich, James Greening, Zaven Melikian, and Evan Wilson (viola).
